2022 marks Houska Automotive’s 70th anniversary!
As a family-owned business that faithfully served our community since 1952, we humbly recognize that we would not be where we are today without our incredible team of employees. We consider each of them as members of our family, just as we consider you – our beloved customer – our friend.
The excellent customer service that we have become known for starts and ends with the Houska team. Each of our employees is dedicated to building good relationships, showing respect and keeping the best interest of each customer in mind. This is what sets us apart from other auto repair shops – Houska is home to an auto repair crew that cares.
We want to take this opportunity to honor and celebrate Houska Automotive’s most-seasoned employees.
Dennis Houska, President of Houska Automotive
Dennis began sweeping the shop floor at age nine (no, we’re not going to say how many years ago that that was) and is now the second-generation owner and president of Houska Automotive. The biggest change he has noticed since starting is the way vehicles have evolved to be controlled by computers. Dennis loves working at Houska because everyone is a friend to him. “We have a great crew who are the best in the business and at the same time, out to have fun.”
Noreen Houska, Bookkeeper Queen since 1984
Noreen has been happily married to Dennis and the shop for more than 33 years now. She’s a number cruncher and queen party planner for the team! The biggest change she has noticed since beginning her work at Houska is how big the company has become. They started with one small building and two employees and have grown to a campus with three buildings and over 50 employees. Noreen loves to work with her family, their employees who are like family and their customers – many of whom are their friends.
LJ Houska, Vice President of Houska Automotive
LJ is Houska’s third-generation vice president and general manager. LJ always knew he wanted to work in the family business and his coworkers, customers and vendors make everyday fun and challenging for him. The biggest change he’s noticed, besides the technology of vehicle repair, is the physical growth of Houska along with all the services they provide. “It is great to be a part of something that over the years grows and changes with the times.”
Jon Monks, Repair Operations Manager Extraordinaire since 1998
Jon started out as a Parts Guy for Houska and has worked his way up to his current position. The biggest changes he’s noticed since he’s started was that Houska has quadrupled in size and all the new vehicle electronics available. Jon has stayed at Houska all these years because of the people. “I can’t imagine any better people to work for and with.”
We wouldn’t be able to do what we do best without our employees – old or new, we are daily grateful for the part they play in the Houska family.
