This month, meet John Monks – Houska’s Vice President of Repair Operations.
Q: How many years have you been a team member at Houska Automotive?
A: Since 1998 – that makes 24.5 years!
Q: What position do you fill at Houska, and what does this position entail?
A: I’m the Vice President of Repair Operations. I run the main repair shop, as well as provide company IT support – and anything else that needs to be done!
Q: What do you love about your job? What do you love about working for Houska specifically?
A: I love the constant variety that comes with this work – there’s always something new to learn. I specifically love working at Houska because of the Houska family. I can’t imagine working for anyone else.
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of?
A: Beyond raising my two sons, I am proud of the direction that Houska Automotive has taken, and the part I have played in helping it to succeed and grow.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: Brilliant, helpful, and humble. 🙂
Q: How would you describe Houska in three words?
A: Service, family, and community.
Q: What is your favorite Houska Automotive memory?
A: When my oldest son peed on Dennis Houska… it’s a long story, ha!
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I love sports! I play basketball and softball as much as my wife will allow.
Q: What do you love about the Northern Colorado community?
A: It seems that everyone in our community is always willing to help the less fortunate. Every fundraiser we hold always exceeds our expectations!
Q: What’s something you wish everyone knew about Houska Automotive?
A: I wish everyone knew about how deeply the staff care for the people we serve. For most of us, working at Houska is not just a career – it is our passion.
