HEAVY DUTY

It’s not just smaller cars that require repairs and maintenance. Houska Automotive is proud to bring our excellent service in Fort Collins to a larger scale at Houska Heavy Duty. We provide repair and maintenance services for box trucks, dump trucks, over-the-road semis, buses, motorhomes, trailers, and everything in between.

Services

Tires

Your heavy vehicle is transporting a lot of weight, and it’s important to keep those tires in tip-top condition. Houska performs mobile tire service and tire retreading to make sure you won’t have any issues while once out on the road. Tire pressure, proper alignment, and tread are all crucial to check during heavy duty truck repair. We would never send you out onto the road if we were doubted the functionality of your semi-truck.

Preventative Maintenance

The best way to fix vehicle repairs is to avoid them in the first place! Houska performs preventative maintenance services on heavy duty vehicles to keep you safer and save you money on expensive repairs on the future. During PM Inspections, the vehicle is tested and checked for any leaks, the proper fluid levels, filters are changed if needed, as well as other checks. If we see something that needs to be repaired, we will fix it before it affects the function of the vehicle. Semi-truck repair is what we do on the Heavy Duty side of Houska. Drive easy knowing everything is taken care of by our auto repair professionals.

Reefer Services

Do you work with refrigerated freight? It is crucial that reefers are kept functioning properly because the quality of the contents in the truck depend on a specific temperature to keep them fresh. Additionally, the FDA has strict regulations for reefer trucks. Houska Heavy Duty can perform routine inspections to make sure your truck is meeting all the requirements.  The refrigeration unit must be calibrated to keep the compressor working properly. Refrigeration units also have a strict replacement schedule for belts and hoses.

Tractor/Trailer Alignment

Having wide-base tires only increases the need for having your vehicle aligned correctly. If your trailers are not aligned correctly, the rate at which your tires endure wear and tear will be increased.  At Houska, we check that each axle is aligned to maximize the life of your tires. This will save you money in the future since they will not have to be replaced as often.

Inspections

It’s one thing to perform semi-truck repairs after something breaks. But we’d rather catch it before something goes wrong. We are certified to perform several different inspections depending on your vehicle and its function.

DOT Inspection

The Department of Transportation mandates that all commercial motor vehicles that weigh more than 10,000 pounds pass an annual DOT Inspection. Any qualified DOT inspector can perform this check. During the inspection, we will check on various parts of the vehicle, including the seat belt, fuel system, suspension, tires, headlights, windshield wipers, turn signals, and so much more.

Crane Inspection

Overhead lifting equipment needs to be checked regularly to ensure safety. Over time, use of the equipment will cause wear and tear. At Houska Heavy Duty, it’s our job to catch that wear and tear and repair it when necessary. We will check for wear on brake systems, deformed or cracked parts, loose bolts, excessive wear of the chain, electrical systems, and more.
