Did you know that some EVs require special tires? Tesla recommends Tesla-approved tires, which are identified by an alphanumberic designation on the tire’s sidewall. These tires are designed to provide a quiet ride, optimize efficiency and deliver good handling characteristics.

What sets Tesla-approved tires apart from other tires? Foam! Yep, there’s a layer of acustical foam inside the tires which contributes to the quiet ride. EVs typically weigh more than due to their heavy battery packs which can increase tire wear. Telsa-approved tires have stiffened sidewalls that won’t lose their shape.

Replacing your Tesla tires, it’s usually in the 20,000 -30,000 mile range. Rotation is recommended every 6,250 miles.
