This month, meet Jennifer Houska – Houska’s Parts Manager.
Q: How many years have you been a team member at Houska Automotive?
A: 11 years!
Q: What position do you fill at Houska, and what duties does this entail?
A: I am the Parts Manager here at Houska. This includes receiving, delivering, and returning all parts that go into a vehicle. I also help with Human Resources, shuttle rides, and anywhere else I can!
Q: What do you love about your job? What do you love about working for Houska specifically?
A: I love the people I work with and the customers I get to help. As Parts Manager, I get to be the middleman between the front of the house (where they order and customize the parts for service) and the technicians in the back (who work hard to put the parts on the vehicle). I learn a lot from both teams.
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of?
A: I am proud of my wonderful family – my husband, LJ (we’ve known each other for almost 20 years now) and my ambitious daughter, Annie. She is almost 10 and always wants to help at the shop. I’m also proud to have volunteered with many local nonprofits, and I continue to be involved in the community as much as possible.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: Confident, honest, and young-at-heart.
Q: How would you describe Houska in three words?
A: Caring, knowledgeable, and upstanding.
Q: What is your favorite Houska Automotive memory?
A: My favorite Houska memory is when we used to run the Houska Houska 5K! Folks from the community would come in costume to celebrate Memorial Day and support the local cancer center. Each year was themed, and the “Dynamic Duos” theme was a favorite of mine.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I love to travel, camp, ski and volunteer. But I’m most passionate about my family and my work!
Q: What do you love about the Northern Colorado community?
A: Northern Colorado is always growing, and yet it continues to feel like a close community. I travel a lot, but I always enjoy coming home to Fort Collins.
Q: What’s something you wish everyone knew about Houska Automotive?
A: The staff truly cares about the repairs they make on your vehicle. They understand that our customers spend their hard-earned money on vehicles and vehicle maintenance, and they want to provide the best service possible.
