Houska Automotive Continues its Tradition of Donating a Car to a Single Mom

For the last 10 years, Houska has partnered with Project Self-Sufficiency and the Lagoon Summer Concert Series to help make a difference in the life of a hard-working single mom. Last month, during intermission of one of the concerts, we had the privilege of presenting Meybol and her 2-year-old daughter with a 2008 Hyundai Sonata!

This used car opens a whole new world for Meybol, and really, just makes life a whole lot easier. Meybol is new to Project Self-Sufficiency and in her career exploration stage. Having a vehicle will allow her to find a good job, transport her family around and empower her to be self-sufficient.

If you aren’t already familiar with Project Self-Sufficiency, it is one of our favorite nonprofits in town that does incredible work to help put single parents on the road to success. Through its many programs, this organization helps single parents find affordable housing, accomplish education goals, attain stable careers and overcome many obstacles they face so that they can provide safe and comfortable lives for their children.

We are so thrilled to have an ongoing partnership with Project Self-Sufficiency, and we hope that our contribution will help Meybol and her daughter turn their dreams into reality!
