Tips on How to be an Uber or Lyft Driver with Great Reviews

If you’ve been working as an Uber or Lyft driver you know how valuable reviews are to your business. It’s a great way to make extra money, but you need more than a smart phone and a pleasant demeanor to maintain the business. You need to keep your biggest business asset–your vehicle–in tip-top shape to keep customers happy.

Get Vehicle Inspected: Both Uber and Lyft require that your vehicle be inspected before you can be approved to work for either company.  Houska offers Uber/Lyft inspections for only $20 and are done in the Tire/Oil center. We’ll check tire pressure, tread, windshield wipers, battery, lights and so much more to ensure that you and your passengers will be safe on the road.

Clean Your Car: No one wants to be picked up in a car that looks like it hasn’t seen a car wash in ages! Make sure the interior and exterior of your vehicle are clean. That means vacuuming the inside, waxing dashboards and fixing any holes in the interior upholstery.

Expect the Unexpected: Keep a few supplies in your trunk in case a passenger shows up with a messy kid, service animal or maybe a not-so-pleasant smelling lunch! Things like air freshener, paper towels, towel, wipes and cleaner will come in handy to keep your car clean and ready for the next passenger.

Cell Phone Charging Block: Travelers are often looking for places to charge their phone. Having this convenience ready is a bonus amenity. Make sure the charger is both iPhone and Android friendly.

Additional Amenities: Consider keeping mints, snacks, gum and water bottles on hand. A bottle of water can seem priceless, especially to a passenger getting off a long flight.

Vehicle Maintenance: Make sure to track mileage and keep up with oil changes, fluids, tire and filter care. We would be glad to help you put together a maintenance plan for your business vehicle.
