We’re sad to be drawing near the end of our year-long 70th anniversary celebration. What a year it has been! We’ve found that this year especially, the old saying certainly does hold true – time flies when you’re having fun!
Here at Houska, we consider ourselves experts at having fun while also supporting our amazing community – and taking care of our customers. The best parts of being around for 70 years have been centered around the good that Houska Automotive has done – and will continue to do – for the Northern Colorado community.
2022 has been our favorite year yet, as we have celebrated our 70th anniversary with family, friends, customers and community members. We couldn’t possibly feel more grateful for our incredible community and the support they have shown us for seven decades now. We consider it a privilege and honor to have such wonderful people to celebrate with!

We kicked off our seventh decade with the creation of 70th Anniversary Houska gear for our team! We have been repping this gear all year, and you better believe that these hoodies will stay in our closets for years to come. What a fun way to commemorate such a significant milestone!
In January, the Coloradoan published a wonderful article about our long-standing apprenticeship program. We love and appreciate our fantastic apprentices, and all of the ways they contribute to the Houska team! We’re proud to train the next generation of Houska Automotive mechanics who work with pride, honesty and integrity.
In April, we were humbled and honored to be named a Top Family-Owned Company in Colorado by ColoradoBiz magazine! In case you didn’t know, Houska is a 3rd generation, family-owned company.
This summer, the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce nominated Houska Automotive as the July Business of the Month! It was an honor to be recognized in this way, and we are grateful for the support of our amazing community.
In July, we had the privilege of partnering with The Lagoon Summer Concert Series where we gifted a refurbished vehicle, free of charge, to a deserving single parent in our community. Our partnership with Project Self-Sufficiency has brought us great joy and pride over the years, and the annual Car Giveaway is one of our favorite events to be a part of!
This fall, we partnered with Horse & Dragon Brewing to create our very own beer! We had an absolute blast working with another local business that is similarly community-minded. The Blue Collar Pilsner is certainly our new favorite local brew! If you haven’t already seen it, check out this video about the collaboration.
Fort Collins City Councilmember Shirley Peel proclaimed September 17th, 2022 as “Houska Automotive Day” in the city of Fort Collins! A City of Fort Collins council member attended our 70th Anniversary Celebration to give the official proclamation. What an honor, and what a fun way to celebrate 70 years serving this community which we love dearly!
September 17th was also the day we held our long-awaited 70th Anniversary Celebration – the biggest party in Houska history! We had a wonderful time dancing the night away to The Burroughs with our incredible community of friends, family and customers. What’s more, the event provided support to one of our favorite organizations – the UCHealth Family Medicine Center Food Pantry. If you joined us for the evening, thank you for partnering with us in the fight against hunger! Together, we raised over $10,000 in monetary donations, and gathered 1,200 pounds of food!
In October, we held our annual Houska Blood Drive! Thanks to the selflessness of our community, we had over 50 people donate blood at the Garth Englund Blood Center. Each year, we find ourselves filled with gratitude as we consider all of the lives that could be saved in this very community through our annual blood drive.
