Did you know that one blood donation could help save up to three lives? When you donate at UCHealth Garth Englund Blood Center, your donation helps supply blood to hospitals throughout Northern Colorado.

What to Expect
The donation process takes about 30 to 45 minutes. When you arrive, Garth Englund staff will guide you through the process and answer any questions.
You’ll complete a health history and consent forms, have your vitals checked, and undergo a quick finger-stick test to check your red blood cell levels. The actual blood draw takes about five to 10 minutes.
Afterward, take a few minutes to rest and enjoy a snack before heading on your way.
Before Your Donation
A little preparation can help make your experience as easy and comfortable as possible:
- Eat a good meal before your appointment.
- Stay hydrated before and after donating.
- Follow the guidance of the Garth Englund staff and ask questions if you need help.
